Sat Feb 17, pm Pixelmator is a fairly mature product while Pixelmator Pro is pretty new. From what I see so far, I believe that the people at Pixelmator have chosen to release the Pro version quite early in its development and add features in new releases as they go. This means that, at the moment Feb , with Pixelmator Pro on 1. There are even some things that you can do with Pixelmator that you can't yet do with Pixelmator Pro.

Anyways, this issue is well past its expiration date this thread was started over a year ago! If you're unhappy with pixelmators history of support and pricing I recommend you look elsewhere.
